The Black Ginger

The black ginger restaurant is located within the Slate resort on Nai Yang Beach and serves gourmet Thai cuisine. This restaurant has been beautifully curated from start to finish. The moment you enter the resort, you are surrounded by traditional Thai architecture, beautiful landscape design and spectacular lighting displays. While here, you truly feel you are Thai royalty, and this is only the beginning of the experience. Chef Piak has 35 years of experience within this restaurant, earning the Phuket Michelin Guide award of a ‘Michelin Plate’ grade. A ‘Michelin Plate’ is a symbol of high-quality cuisine. As a result, the whole dining experience is unforgettable.

Acqua

While this is not a Thai cuisine restaurant, it is still absolutely up the top of our list! The Italian Restaurant Acqua has many awards and distinctions bestowed upon it. It is a private dining experience and was awarded a Michelin Plate and is included in the new Phuket Michelin Guide. It is designed and decorated beautifully and falls just outside Patong Beach. Trading for 10 years, Acqua has become one of the most prestigious, high-end restaurants in Phuket. It is a little expensive, but fine dining comes at a cost.

Raya

Going in a different direction to Acqua and The Black Ginger, Raya is a more quaint and local experience. Serving beautiful authentic food with fresh ingredients at reasonable prices is a tick in all boxes. The Raya house is an old mansion but still feels traditional and modest. It has a comforting and warm feel and will be right at home with gorgeous comfort food. Raya has been trading for over 10 years now and earnt a Bib Gourmand rating from the new Michelin Guide for Phuket. In conclusion, Raya is a friendly establishment that serves good food at moderate prices.

Kan Eang @ Pier Seafood Restaurant

Kan Eang @ Pier is a popular seaside restaurant located in Chalong Bay, where they serve the freshest seafood while maintaining affordable prices. Here you can enjoy all the seafood that Phuket is famous for; lobsters, giant prawns, blue crabs, seabass and grouper, in an exquisite location under beautiful shady trees, by the ocean with wonderfully relaxing sea breezes.

Suay in Cherngtalay

Located in the up and coming area of Cherngtalay, Suay is a modern Thai restaurant with an incredibly creative menu created by owner and chef Noi Tammasak. Serving traditional Thai dishes with a modern twist and exquisite presentation, Suay has received a Michelin plate for their outstanding cuisine, including the signature dish of grilled lemongrass lamb chops with papaya salsa, seasoned with a bold but perfect amount of spice.

Samut Restaurant Phuket

Samut, located in Nai Harm, is a high-end restaurant that serves beautiful modern Thai food. The presentation is that of fine-dining with eight courses to a sitting. However, unlike our suggestions above, Samut has not been awarded a Michelin plate. This is due to being a new restaurant, only opening their doors on the 10th of February, 2022. They are definitely one to keep a close eye on. Samut has everything a restaurant needs to be a serious contender for the award. They focus on using local ingredients, spices and fresh seafood. Each course is briefly described with the names and origin of the ingredients used.
